22nd & 23rd June 2013
Crickey! We have some 635 entries and so a very big thank you to everyone coming to Hutton 1 in 2012! Some entries have needed to be wait listed and these can be viewed on bdwp.co.uk/hut - but hopefully many will make the final sectioning... this week. There are however a few places remaining in the Novice and Open Novice sections but these will go fast and so we recommended anyone wanting to run in these classes enter sooner rather than later.
We're also delighted that Top Stocks will again provide their marvelous prize for the BE80(T) Best Dressed competitor and this to be judged by our BE Trainers Louise Smales and Charlotte Ridley. Looking through the entries for this class it is really great to see so many riders who competed at Eden Valley coming along to Hutton - and very welcome everyone is too.
Lloyd Equestrian will be provide great prizes for the BE100 classes and Horslyx are giving their delicious (certainly according to our ponies) for the BE90 sections along with some additional prizes too.
The Chess III Memorial Trophy will be awarded to the highest placed mare in the Novice classes and of course Hutton 1 is Round 2 for the Cumbrian Challenge Trophy - the current JOINT leaders being Susan Chappelhow on Crackenthorpe Nightingale and also with Formula One; Ruth Edge on Glenomra Hero; Alison Fligg on Touchstone VIII; and Tilly Hughes on Tia VII - all with 8 points following Eden Valley HT.
Background
Eventing is a sport which combines great skill with excitement, drama, nail-biting tension and sometimes even a bit of slapstick comedy.
Top-level names from the world of Eventing will be competing in the Hutton International Horse Trials, bringing all the thrills and spills of the sport at this high level to the county for the very first time.
Riders have to compete in three very different disciplines: First they have to rein in the power and exuberance of their ultra-fit horses to show disciplined precision in the Dressage section; next comes the Cross-Country course with its incredible challenges, a chance to let the horses fly over a variety of carefully crafted obstacles; finally – the show jumping, and here the riders may have to choose between accuracy and speed. In this last element everything's to play for – and the stakes can be high.
The Hutton experience is one for all the family – not just its pony-mad members! Set in the grounds of a beautiful country estate in a glorious part of Cumbria, the International Trials promise memorable days out in one of the loveliest parts of Britain, with lots of attractions, including a Food Hall with a wide range of tempting local fare, plus an activity centre for the youngsters and a great variety of stalls to please every shopping fan.
Come and join us – and enjoy sporting excellence at its best.

Stabling and Schedules
Hutton will run up to Novice level and will see inviting new spread fences and an enlarged dew pond for 2012. The main arena will be larger than last years following our decision to avoid a conflict with the Skelton Show and there will be even more trade stands for 2012. Your hosts to whom we are extremely grateful are Lord & Lady Inglewood.
The main arena will move further towards the cross country start area to find the best of the flat ground in the Park and ever more spectators and trade stands will attend. Nothing more, nothing less.

There is a mountain to climb in terms of raising sponsorship, organising all the infrastructure and encouraging exhibitors to come to a new event.
So if you know of any friends or colleagues who would also like to be involved in any way, please let us know and we will encourage them to join what is set to be something very special for Cumbria.
